It's amazing how half a foot of snow can change an almost 29 year old woman into an excited little girl. It's true...I was quite ecstatic to wake up to 6 inches of snow this morning - more snow than I've ever been in before. Florida never provided us such an opportunity for snow fun. So, needless to say, there were snow angels and snowballs, and yes - even a snowman (my FIRST snowman, I might add - complete with a little carrot nose!) We have pictures that we'll have to upload and post. That will, however, require us to find our camera cable to upload the pictures and neither of us are really sure where it may be right now. You see, we've actually packed up the majority of our home this past weekend in preparation for our big move. When might this move be you ask?? What a fantastic question! We would like to know the answer to that one, as well. We were originally scheduled to close on the house on February 20th...and then the 27th...and now we're tentatively set for this Wednesday, but with most establishments being closed or delayed today due to the snow, we're not counting on Wednesday either. Only time will tell!
So what else is new?? Since the last blog, we've established that I shall be joining a medical mission team that's heading to Honduras April 18-27. Two nurses backed out of the trip for one reason or another, and I was approached about taking one of the spots - due to my semi-ability to communicate in Spanish (seeing how I have absolutely NO medical experience other than social work!) and having gone to Honduras with this same mission organization this past summer with the college students from our church. God was incredibly gracious to open this door - and my trip expense was completely covered! I'm really excited about going on an "adult" mission trip. Every other mission trip I've been on has been in the capacity of a youth leader - having to think for high schoolers or college students. So this will be a welcome change - to be with adults who have the same passions and motivations and mindset. The only down side is that I'll be away from the love of my life for 10 days which seems like an eternity. I know I'll survive and life as I know it won't come to an end. But I've only ever been away from Josh for 2 -3 days and felt absolutely empty without him there both times. I'm just so blessed to have a husband who is my best friend and who I would choose to hang out with 24/7 over anyone else. The one good thing is that Josh has also been to Honduras and is familiar with the location/people we'll be working with. That helps knowing that he can connect in that way. It would be much more difficult going somewhere completely new without being able to share that experience with him.
Well, speaking of my beloved hubby...he's pulled out his guitar, so I think we shall spend some time chilling and singing together. Until next time....
